Part-Time Handyperson/Painter

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handyperson/Painter to join our maintenance team in Novotel York.

In this role you will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks with a primary focus on painting and general repairs. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented efficient and able to handle diverse maintenance challenges.

• Perform high-quality painting work on interior and exterior surfaces
• Execute general maintenance and repair tasks including basic carpentry and plumbing
• Prepare surfaces for painting including cleaning sanding and applying primer
• Mix and match paint colors to meet specific requirements
• Maintain and organize tools and equipment
• Identify and report any major maintenance issues to management
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed

Qualifications :

• Proven experience as a handyperson or painter
• Proficiency in various painting techniques and use of painting tools
• Basic carpentry and plumbing skills
• Knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Relevant vocational training in painting or general maintenance (preferred)
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
