The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimers Research Center at the Rutgers Brain Health Institute ( BHI ) is recruiting a tenured or tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Associate or Full Professor level to expand our research portfolio in the basic science of neurodegenerative diseases. We seek scholars with a focus on innovative rigorous and impactful translational science in the field of ADRD . Applicants may be from the fields of neuroscience animal research human subjects research clinical research etc. This recruitment is part of a newly approved diversity cluster hiring opportunity towards Addressing Health Equity in Age-related Disorders ( AHEAD ). The AHEAD cluster envisions hiring and bringing together a cohort of scholars from the Rutgers Health (RH) the School of Engineering (SoE) and School of Arts and Sciences ( SAS ) at Rutgers New Brunswick and to collectively advance knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders develop treatments and technology solutions that help people experience a higher quality of life and develop a deep understanding of the social racial and ethnic health disparities associated with the onset and treatments of neurodegenerative disorders to map a path towards health equity and healthy aging. The successful applicant will join a collaborative neuroscience community in the Rutgers Brain Health Institute ( BHI ) and serve as a core member within the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimers Center at BHI . The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimers Research Center is a new center within BHI at Rutgers University with the mission of establishing an interdisciplinary integrated program to provide comprehensive research focused on prevention and treatment of Alzheimers disease and related dementias. This center is the first of its kind in New Jersey and the successful applicant will be integral to its development. Ideal candidates will bring vision and experience in modern aging and memory research and enthusiasm for team science and collaboration. Qualifying applicants must have an established scholarly record demonstrating ability to develop and lead a program of independent NIH (or other extramurally) funded research and current active extramural funding. Outstanding core facilities will support this position including a new research-dedicated 3T Siemens Prisma MRI scanner EEG and TMS facilities and a human behavioral testing core developed and operated in collaboration with Princeton University. Core facilities are also available to support basic science including small animal imaging genome editing and cellular imaging. Our faculty intersect with key BHI centers at Rutgers including the Center for Advanced Human Brain Imaging Research the Addiction Research Center and the Center for Autism Research Education and Services . Cognitive science research is facilitated by the Rutgers University Center for Cognitive Science ( RuCCS ). Through the Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science an active NIH CTSA and affiliation with Barnabas Health the largest hospital network in the state of New Jersey Rutgers offers unique opportunities for participant recruitment and clinical trials to speed the translation of research discoveries into improved patient care.
