Posting Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Medical School is seeking to hire a faculty member in the division of Pediatric Allergy Immunology and Infectious Disease. Candidate must have an MD or DO degree and be fellowship trained in and board-certified or board eligible in pediatric infectious disease. We are looking for pediatric physicians to see patients and mentor students and residents at both outpatient and inpatient locations through didactic and bedside teaching. The successful candidate will provide direct inpatient consultations at the Bristol Myer Squibb Childrens Hospital in New Brunswick as well as at Monmouth Medical Center. The candidate will also provide direct outpatient care primarily at the East Brunswick Child Health Institute (New Brunswick) and Eatontown ambulatory facilities. Other offsites may include Somerset Monroe Edison and Lakewood. We are seeking a candidate who has a passion for teaching and enjoys caring for children with a wide variety of conditions including those who are medically complex. We value leadership. BMSCH is a 105-bed acute care hospital located on the only pediatric academic health campus in New Jersey. The outpatient services are located in the Rutgers Child Health Institute of NJ a state-of-the-art facility that includes a Pediatric CRC Pediatric subspecialty offices and a modern research facility. Our New Brunswickbased clinical programs have achieved Accredited Status for Ambulatory Health Care by the Joint Commission one of only a small number of academic ambulatory practices with this status. Adjacent to the RWJ Barnabas Bristol-Myers Squibb Childrens hospital is the PSE &G Childrens Specialized Hospital which is one of the countrys largest inpatient acute rehabilitation facilities for children. Across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ the only NCI designated center in the state of New Jersey. The Department of Pediatrics is composed of 130 full-time and more than 200 volunteer faculty members organized into 18 divisions including all the pediatric subspecialties and four key surgical services. Our centers of excellence include The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities Child Health Sciences and the Institute for the Study of Child Development. The Department is undergoing a renaissance following the recent integration of the medical school with Rutgers The State University of New Jersey and the merger of two major health systems to form RWJ Barnabas. The Department has recently expanded by more than 40 new faculty members and plans to recruit additional faculty to expand our research education and clinical programs and provide improved care to our patients.
