The Senior Analyst will be responsible for financial planning and analysis functions for the Commercial Finance Department. This responsibility includes assisting with the annual budget process and quarterly forecasts and financial reporting of assigned partner activities. This position is also responsible for month-end close activities month analysis actual/budget variance reporting account reconciliations and internal auditing support.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for monthly vessel reporting development of annual budget and provisional rates for assigned vessels
Coordinates and assists with the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the Commercial Activities
Oversees cargo invoicing related to external slot agreements and completing the actual/budget variance reporting
Assist with the setting up of new contract processes to ensure timing payments and billing
Reviews vessel docking expenditures identify outstanding items and reconcile purchase log
Ensure deadlines for monthly accounting financial analysis and reporting are met for assigned accounts and balance sheet reconciliation
Support business reporting and ensure analytical needs are met for assigned areas and/or business unit(s)
Identify improvement opportunities and recommend/implement changes to achieve desired results
Prepare and review financial variances between Actual/Budget
Work with management to identify accounting and financial reporting issues and develop solutions
Supports commitment to safety and other selected company standards and certifications
Performs other position related duties as specified by management
Provide IT system testing support
Position Specifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree Required
Minimum 4 years of experience in Finance or Financial Reporting
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
Very strong analytical skills
Moderate proficiency in use of PeopleSoft or other ERP system
Must have strong organization and planning skills
Microsoft Excel expertise
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
