Summary of Duties
As a Family Time Coordinator you will:
Coordinate and schedule visits ensuring safety and clear communication with all parties involved.
Explain visit agreements and rules to clients families and caregivers setting clear expectations.
Monitor visits address any issues that arise and document outcomes accurately.
Support caseworkers by engaging with clients contributing to assessments and assisting in decision-making.
Collaborate with multiple teams to provide support and assistance to children and families.
Provide transportation for children and families ensuring safety during travel and visits.
Prepare court notes attend meetings and conferences and testify in court to support legal proceedings.
Maintain accurate records and give feedback to service workers to facilitate change and review client progress.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services children services senior services mental or developmental disability services substance abuse programs juvenile corrections programs or occupational skills programs. Or
Possession of a current certification in child development early childhood education addiction counseling preparation or juvenile corrections. Or
45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology psychology early childhood education criminal justice human services juvenile corrections or occupational skills training. Or
An associate degree in a field not closely related to social work/human services; and six months of human services-related experience (e.g. work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged employment abuse and neglect substance abuse aging mental or physical disabilities juvenile prevention health cultural competencies and/or inadequate housing).
Essential Attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
Knowledge of key concepts in childhood development.
Knowledge or experience identifying signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect.
Experience locating and sharing community resources for client support.
Understanding of the impact of emotional and behavioral disorders on family interactions.
Experience adjusting communication style for different audiences and situations.
Experience producing clear and factual written communication that excludes personal thoughts or emotions.
Preference will be given to candidates that are bilingual in Spanish and English.
Working Conditions
Work will be conducted in offices participants homes and other community sites.
Employees work schedule will be Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm PT; hours may fluctuate based on service needs.
Occasional compensated overtime may be required including evening and weekend work.
Occasional travel is required for transporting children and families conducting case related activities and attending meetings and trainings.
There may be rare opportunities for overnight travel when transporting children.
You will receive all necessary training and support for the role including specific training on de-escalation and crisis management.
May work with individuals experiencing trauma or crisis. Some individuals may have challenges managing their emotions.
May encounter situations requiring quick decision-making to ensure the safety of oneself or others.
Activities include traversing stairs moving on uneven terrain and helping children (weighing up to 50 pounds) in and out of car seats.
