Rate of Pay:

This is a Full-Time Support Staff position at grade 9 with an annual salary range of $34620 to $39886. The salary offer will be based on education and experience in alignment with the Colleges compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs grounds maintenance landscaping snow removal parking lot and sidewalk maintenance. General supervision is received from the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2. Must have and maintain a current State of Illinois Department of Agriculture Pesticide Operators Permit.
3. Must have and maintain a current Chemical Applicators License.
4. Experience in chemical and pesticide application.
5. Experience in the operation and maintenance of lawnmowers landscaping parking lot and snow removal equipment.

Desired Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Essential Duties:

1. Operate lawnmowers and various equipment used in landscaping parking lot maintenance and snow removal.
2. Assist in planting weeding and watering of landscape projects. Apply chemicals and pesticides as needed per regulations.
3. Assist with tree trimming clean up and removal.
4. Assist in the maintenance or repair of parking lots and sidewalks.
5. Assist with furniture and equipment moves.

Other Duties:

1. Assist with pick up/drop off of donations for various college departments.
2. Post banners and set up barricades for special events on campus.
3. Post signs notifying the students and staff of events on campus.
4. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
5. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
