Job Description
Long-Term Substitute - 2nd Grade Teacher (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Location: St. Angela Merici Metairie LA
Position Type: Temporary Full-Time
Start Date: December 2025
End Date: 8 weeks
We are seeking a long-term substitute teacher to cover a 2nd grade classroom during a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for teaching strong classroom management skills and a commitment to supporting young learners in a structured and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities Include:
Planning and delivering daily lessons in core subjects (ELA Math Science Social Studies)
Assessing students and maintain records
Maintaining classroom routines and expectations
Assessing student progress and communicating with families as needed
Collaborating with grade-level team and support staff
Requirements:
Teaching license in elementary education
Experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Positive team-oriented attitude
