Are you passionate about helping individuals take the first steps toward recovery

AMHC is seeking a full-time Substance Use Disorder Counselor in Fort Kent to provide compassionate evidence-based outpatient services to individuals and families affected by substance use. Join a mission-driven team that is committed to offering dynamic whole-person care across the continuum of recovery services.


What Youll Do:

  • Provide direct clinical services including biopsychosocial assessments individual group and family counseling and co-occurring treatment for clients with both mental health and substance use diagnoses.
  • Engage clients and their families in treatment planning and connect them with internal and external support services.
  • Collaborate with referral sources and community agencies to ensure coordinated care.
  • Support No Wrong Door access by working with clients families and community stakeholders regardless of entry point.
  • Offer integrated recovery-oriented services in collaboration with AMHC programs such as:
    • Opioid Health Home (OHH)
    • Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT)
    • Residential Treatment and Peer Recovery Centers
    • Drug Court and Criminogenic Services

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required with one year of experience of a formal or subjective nature.
  • The position requires the individual to hold and maintain licensure as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) leading to the achievement of full licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
  • Clinical consultation through a Clinical Consultant Supervisor (CCS) will be provided to those staff who are not yet licensed at the LADC level.
  • Holders of this position must complete a physical at least once every three years.
