Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Outpatient Units Partial Hospital and Residential Programs within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose of the Assistant Nurse Manager is to be responsible for supervising the provision and management of patient care services for an assigned shift or unit on a consistent basis. The ANM serves as a resource for nursing care across the system on an as needed basis and works with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. The ANM promotes quality patient care patient safety and customer satisfaction. The ANM serves as the resource person for staff in explaining and executing policy and procedure. The ANM functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team; participates in quality improvement activities educational activities and supports research endeavors. The role is consistent with the scope and standards outlined by the American Psychiatric Nurses Association for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assures the completion of admission nursing assessment and on-going risk assessments in accordance with specific unit standards and regulatory requirements. Supervises staff in assessing planning implementing and evaluating delivery of care. Collaborates with treatment teams clients family and significant others in the development of individualized plans of care on an as needed basis in an effort to promote wellness and recovery. Facilitates effective communication inter and intra departmentally to coordinate efforts resolve operations problems and improve quality of patient care. Serves as a resource for all staff in meeting standards of practice. Plans and implements safe staffing based upon the defined staff plan. Facilitates problem solving and promotes team building. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients families visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional responsible and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team inter and intradepartmentally to facilitate UBHC strategic initiatives. Directs personnel in the provision of care.

Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care ( UBHC ) established in 1971 offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children adolescents adults and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHCs 1060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment prevention and education. UBHC one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient outpatient partial hospitalization screening crisis stabilization family/caregiver support community outreach and case management supportive housing supported employment prevention and consultation employee assistance programs and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police veterans active military teachers mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016 UBHC treated 16199 consumers had 24502 admissions and touched the lives of 19441 individual callers through peer support. In addition UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services Children and Families and Corrections delivering 16000 trainings each year.
