This position is responsible for directing the activities of the maintenance hourly work force to ensure the efficient and safe maintenance and repair of all equipment effective supervision of all contract services support of storeroom policies and procedures and janitorial support of the facilities.

Your responsibilities:

  • Ensures all employees comply with JM safety procedures and PPE requirements to keep workforce from injury.
  • Communicates with internal customers to determine and understand their needs timing and keep them up to date on their request status in order to promote customer satisfaction.
  • Executes the preventive maintenance procedures janitorial responsibilities repairs and projects in order to maintain the building and equipment.
  • Assigns jobs to employees and lend technical advice to ensure effective completion of work and determination of root cause failures.
  • Executes and ensures safe work practices through training procedures housekeeping and monitoring to ensure repeatable safe completion of jobs.
  • Assists in planning and executing shutdowns to maximize the effectiveness of major PM time.
  • Ensures open communication throughout department so that everyone has a voice for improvement.
  • Responsible for equipment and procedural modifications needed to create efficient maintenance techniques.
  • Finds and acts on opportunities to continuously improve and prevent equipment downtime machine accuracy or general good practices.
  • Executes 5S initiatives within the department and organization as a whole so that plant may be a great place in which to work.
  • Understands union contract and bases personnel decisions on it to enable a fair working environment.

Requirements for the role:

  • BS degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 2 years maintenance experience or 4 years of maintenance and supervisory experience.
  • Prior manufacturing facility experience required.
  • Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in SAP desirable.
  • Experience with a Maintenance ticketing system desirable.
  • Experience supervising a Union workforce desirable.
