Summary of Job Duties:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of patients will work as part of the interdisciplinary team based on licensure title and competencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associates Degree in Nursing Nursing Diploma Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
- Excellent communication skills basic computer skills strong work ethic and accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of Registered Nurse experience
- Current BLS

Additional Information:
- The RN seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. The RN integrates theory and research into clinical practice.
- The RN provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards.
- The RN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM). Promotion is based on years of experience satisfactory performance appraisals and recommendation by manager.
- Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify prevent and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation de-escalation personal protection from physical assaults and physical alternatives within six months of hire.
- PRI Inpatient Units include the General Adult Inpatient Unit the Womens Unit the Child Diagnostic Unit and the Interventional Hospital-Based Clinic.
