A typical day for a RIDE Pre-K Lead Teacher will include:
- Working as a team with the Teacher Assistants to provide a safe healthy structured welcoming space to grow and learn.
- Singing dancing playing teaching!
- Inspiring children to be lifelong learners.
- Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children.
- Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
- Assisting with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives.
- Overseeing developing implementing and coordinating curriculum and assessments.

This is a full time school year position with competitive pay and benefits.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree in in Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Special Education Human Development or Child Development required.
- Must meet state Pre-K education requirements some options include: RI Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Early Childhood Education Certificate (PreK Grade 2) or RI Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Teacher Early Childhood Special Education Certificate (Birth - Grade 2) which includes Early Childhood Education Certificate or Bachelors or Masters in Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Special Education Human Development or Child Development and an individualized plan for completing requirements to be a certified Early Childhood Education Teacher (PreK Grade 2) within 1 year of employment and documentation of progress toward plan completion that is submitted annually to the RI Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as part of the early childhood education programs annual approval renewal.
Certifications/Experience
- Minimum 3 months of successful supervised teaching in a licensed/approved education program for the appropriate age level (student teaching may fulfill).
- Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Teaching Strategies and/or Conscious Discipline preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with ECERS and CLASS preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking running crawling bending twisting).
- Visual and hearing acuity.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Other Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Able to read write speak and understand English bilingual encouraged to apply.
- Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
- Must pass Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
