The team is composed of multidisciplinary experts working collaboratively to address complex security challenges and deliver strategic outcomes.
About the Role
We are seeking an experiencedCyber Security Technical Writerto join a Canberra-based team on an initial8-month contract with the possibility of a12-month extension. This role involves researching developing reviewing and publishing cyber security guidance and technical advice tailored to a range of audiences. Youll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to produce high-quality publications and contribute to strategic deliverables.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing actionable cyber security guidance and mitigation strategies.
- Conducting research on emerging technologies and cyber threats.
- Supporting technical publications through all development phases.
- Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Assisting with governance briefings document reviews and reporting.
The Successful Candidate
To be considered you must be anAustralian citizenwith acurrent Baseline security clearance. Candidates with aDefence Intelligence Agency-recognised Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA)are highly preferred. You must also be willing to undergo the agencys OSA process prior to engagement.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in cyber security.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven leadership and time management capabilities.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. cyber security IT cloud computing).
Desirable attributes:
- Experience managing projects.
- Familiarity with governance risk and compliance practices.
- Knowledge of ASDs Essential Eight maturity model and Information Security Manual.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 8 months from commencement date plus 1x 12 month extension.
