About Longhorn Wellness Center

The Longhorn Wellness Center (LWC) is a department in the Division of Student Affairs that promotes student and campus well-being through programs education health messages student engagement and collaboration.

Purpose

The LWC is hiring a VAV Undergraduate Student Assistant to provide support for our interpersonal violence prevention program Voices Against Violence (VAV) including the development implementation and evaluation of related programming and interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementation of workshops presentations trainings and tabling events
  • Collaborate with the Voices Against Violence student organization
  • Research programming at state-universities related to domestic violence sexual assault and stalking
  • Assist the Interpersonal Violence Prevention Coordinator in gathering compiling and utilizing data and related information to develop health and wellness initiatives and educational materials for diverse groups of students
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during semester in which you are applying.
  • Background and/or interest in health and wellness (through education or other experiences).
  • Ability to work in teams and to maintain effective professional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently manage a variety of tasks follow-up on assignments and take initiative on projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional or volunteer work with individuals who have experienced domestic violence sexual assault and/or stalking.

Salary Range

  • Undergraduate pay: $10.00 per hour
  • Graduate pay: $19.00 per hour

Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment
  • May work outdoors at events
  • May work outside of typical business hours

Work Shift

  • Undergraduate students will work up to 19 hours per week
  • Graduate students will work up to 10 hours per week
  • This position will start in August 2025 with the possibility of continuing employment beyond the 2025-2026 academic year.
  • Hours will be primarily completed onsite with some opportunities for remote work.
