Job Description

Permanent Nurse Practitioner-Pulmonology

Location: Dallas TX 75246
Shift: Full-Time Days 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Perform comprehensive or focused physical examinations and obtain medical histories.
  • Order collect and interpret lab and diagnostic tests to evaluate patient conditions.
  • Prescribe or recommend medications and treatments adhering to safety and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and implement individualized evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis medications nutrition and health maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
  • Refer patients appropriately when their condition exceeds the NPs scope or expertise.
  • Provide consultative care within Pulmonology including inpatient or procedural settings as required.
  • Perform invasive procedures within NPs scope and competency.
  • May be expected to work outside regular hours to meet department needs.

  • Knowledge of disease diagnosis treatment protocols drug interactions and preventive care
  • Ability to interpret diagnostics and apply clinical reasoning
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving
  • EMR/computer proficiency
  • Capable of counseling patients on medical psychological and behavioral conditions
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP)-Current and valid license in Texas required
  • Registered Nurse (RN)-Texas RN license required
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)-Texas APRN license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)-Certification required within 30 days of hire required
  • Board Certification-As an APRN in the patient population focus area (e.g. Adult-Gerontology Family NP Acute Care)
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Experience: New graduates welcome (Less than 1 year experience required)
  • Certifications: NP RN BLS
