Job Description

Travel RN Stepdown Contract Role

Location: Altoona PA 16601
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM 07:00 AM
Duration: 12-week contract
Weekly Pay: $1800 $1944
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver patient care in a Stepdown Unit (SDU) including monitoring vitals administering medications and maintaining patient safety.
  • Perform assessments create and implement care plans and communicate patient conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms respond to changes in condition and escalate care as needed.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians specialists and other nurses to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide support and education to patients and families.
Requirements:
  • Active RN License (PA State-required)
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience (within last 18 months)
  • BLS & ACLS Certification (American Heart Association-required)
  • Telemetry experience
  • Strong communication critical thinking and organizational skills

  • Locals accepted-local pay rates will apply to candidates residing within a 75-mile radius.
