RN - Emergency Department Permanent Role Location: Dallas TX 75246
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Functions of the Role: - Perform detailed clinical assessments of patients and families to determine priorities of care.
- Develop implement evaluate and adjust individualized care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families using empathy professionalism and effective communication.
- Create care plans that reflect patient values and help resolve clinical or emotional issues.
- Educate patients families staff and community members on healthcare topics to promote informed health decisions.
- Assess learning needs regularly and provide appropriate resources and instruction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and the community to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately ensuring timely follow-up and accountability.
- Apply critical thinking and various problem-solving strategies to patient family and staff concerns.
- Prioritize safety effectiveness and efficiency in care planning and delivery.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration and professional development.
- Serve as a mentor to peers and demonstrate a commitment to community and service.
Key Success Factors: - In-depth knowledge of nursing standards and patient care procedures.
- Familiarity with state nursing regulations hospital policies and legal guidelines.
- Competence in medical terminology disease prevention health management and common medications (including side effects).
- Adherence to medical ethics professional conduct and patient confidentiality rights.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage with diverse individuals using strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective critical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office EMR scheduling email etc.).
Qualifications: - Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
- Licenses/Certifications:
- RN License: Registered Nurse active and in good standing
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- ED Experience: Previous Emergency Department experience required
