Job Description
This is a remote position.
- Individual Contributor who can work on transformational tasks critical issues & continuous improvement of our enterprise storage environment
- Lead mainframe storage IBM DS8K administration with experience in integration projects
- Responsible for all aspects the IBM DS8K storage environment to include sizing forecasting configuration
- Plan design and implementation with minimum disruption to the business back out procedure and execution coordination
- Work with DASD IBM storage environments in a z/OS operating system
- Disaster Recovery planning configuration and testing at regular intervals
- Perform daily storage management product upgrades and configuration
- Review approve and coordinate storage related changes
- Knowledge of 3rd party storage management products and reporting tools
- Execute all backup recovery disaster recovery and related capabilities.
- Volume space and capacity management
- Evaluates capacity utilization and initiates projects to address areas of excess and shortages proactively and reports to management
- Maintain documentation of the storage environment
Requirements
- A minimum of fifteen years of experience working in a mainframe storage environment
- Expert knowledge of IBM DS900 storage arrays to include SMS/ACS routines and all configuration settings of the DS8K
- Expertise with SMS in an IBM mainframe environment
- Experience with SMPE or z/OSMF

Education
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
