Overview
We re hiring an Automation Software Developer to partner directly with the CEO of an innovative Australian sporting goods company. Your mission: build automation systems that eliminate manual tasks not just complete them. From real-time customer communication to shipping workflows youll be the strategist engineer and optimizer behind it all.
This is not a team role. No PMs. No red tape. Just you the CEO and the business-critical systems you ll build. Expect full ownership over Unleashed Starshipit Outlook and Xero integrations. Your deliverables will have immediate visible impact from ticket reduction to self-service customer tools to GPT-powered summaries. Key Responsibilities (Outcome-Driven)
Design build and optimize workflow automations across Unleashed Starshipit Xero and Outlook using n8n or custom APIs
Deliver customer communication flows that reduce tickets using ChatGPT-generated summaries
Launch and maintain a real-time Track My Order feature in the customer portal
Build resilient error-handling logic with retries fallbacks and performance logging
Integrate AI tools into operations enabling smarter decisions and automated insights
Translate business needs into scalable systems that eliminate redundant workflows
Report directly to the CEO with solution insights performance metrics and improvement recommendations
SMARTe Objectives (First 120 Days)
1. Deploy automated email updates for backorders using Unleashed Outlook (Graph API) and ChatGPT within 21 days
2. Integrate shipping automation that syncs Starshipit Unleashed and Xero with >95% accuracy by Day 30
3. Build and launch a Track My Order portal tool that handles real-time queries and auto-replies by Day 45
4. Orchestrate at least 5 core workflows in n8n each with failure handling and error logging by Week 8
5. Design and deliver a metrics dashboard showing ticket reduction automation success rate and time saved by Day 60
6. Run 2 A/B tests using prompt-engineered summaries and measure CTR or follow-up reduction by Day 90

Requirements
- 3 years experience as developer in full-stack/backend roles
- Proven experience integrating REST APIs with tools like n8n Zapier or custom code
- Comfort with or Python especially for custom API bridging
- Familiarity with Outlook (Graph) Unleashed Starshipit and Xero APIs
- Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for workflow automation and communication
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain workflows to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong time ownership and ability to prioritize without external project management
