Job Title: Student Worker - Front Desk/HMIS Assistant - Mission Waco Mission World

Job Classification:Community Service Student

Department: Off Campus Community Service

Hiring Manager: Bailie Rouse

Contact:

Work Schedule: 10-20 hrs per week between the hours of 6 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday and 6 am - 8 am Saturday

Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Ongoing

Pay Rate: $10.50-$11.50 per hour

Key Components:

This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only. A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a state-wide information technology system used to collect client-level data and data on the provision of housing and services to homeless individuals and families and persons at risk of homelessness including the Meyer Center Health & Legal Clinic

  • In a student employee capacity may assist in working with external community service partners.
  • A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a state-wide information technology system used to collect client-level data and data on the provision of housing and services to homeless individuals and families and persons at risk of homelessness including the Meyer Center Health & Legal Clinic
  • Welcome and register clients in the HMIS Database obtaining essential information including income health status housing employment etc.
  • Manage assign and supervise chores at the center for clients. (ie. cleaning admin etc.)
  • Assist Director with HMIS analytics for monthly reports and to support grant funding applications.
  • Scheduling meetings for case workers counselors and program directors.
  • Obtain and analyze homeless utilization data from Health Clinic to support Center operations.
  • Assist front desk with signing up participants for services including shelter laundry and showers
  • Position includes direct contact with homeless population.

Job Description:

  • Work with local organization(s) or community partners
  • Provide excellent customer service as a representative of the University
  • May assist with planning organizing and implementing community services or programs
  • May assist with various projects activities or tasks related to community projects
  • May contribute to developing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external partners
  • May serve as a source to provide information about resources and assistance related to community program(s) or service(s)
  • May serve to enhance outreach for the greater Waco community
  • Ensure confidentiality of all pertinent information
  • May prepare and present information in a group or workshop setting
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
