Job Description
Required Education: Athletics Tutors must meet the skills requirement below. Must attach transcript reflecting minimum grade requirement or degree earned.
Skills:
- Musthave earned a B or higher in the specific course or have been award a degree in that area
- Must be capable of tutoring the courses specified
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to effectively communicate course material while engaging with our student-athletes in a positive manner
- Must be willing and able to communicate and build relationships with a varied group of students
- Must be willing and able to gain and maintain working knowledge of university Conference and NCAA rules and regulations
- Must be willing and able to adhere to standards of conduct for Athletics Academics Tutorial Staff
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate verbally hear and seeincluding color depth perception and clarity
Supervision: None
Department Preferences:
- Experience working as a tutor for undergraduate or graduate students
- Experience working with a diverse group of students
- Working knowledge of university Conference and NCAA rules and regulations

An academic tutor will be asked and expected to tutor student-athletes in various courses. All tutoring will take place in the McClendon Center for Intercollegiate Athletics and will range based on student-athlete need and tutor availability. Tutoring sessions will include 1-3 student-athletes and are expected to last 45 minutes.
