JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking highly motivated individuals for Quality Controls technician roles. The positions include providing inspection testing services and documentation for paving projects. The Quality HSE Technician is responsible for compaction testing of asphalt mixtures and making any necessary adjustments to the compaction process to ensure compliance for all applications and projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collect and/or prepare aggregates and asphalt samples for analysis
• Perform field and laboratory tests at various points throughout civil construction projects and report test data in a complete and timely manner
• Using nuclear gauge or coring conduct density testing of road surfaces
• Reporting to the Quality Control Manager responsible for the testing of road construction materials
• Complete daily records of paving limits placing temps rolling temps rolling patterns tonnages weather and other influences
• Ensure that all testing equipment is functioning properly
• Conduct document and file plant calibrations
• Test loose mix to confirm plant calibration analyzing mix temperature asphalt cement content mix moisture content gradation density of lab compacted mix and volumetric properties
• Other Quality Control and Testing duties as assigned
• Working and communicating in close relationship with both construction inspectors and construction managers to ensure that all tasks are done correctly and as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Construction Experience is a must
• Must have an ACI certification
• Must have knowledge in concrete slip paving.
• Strong problem solving organizational and time management
• Multi-tasking capability in a fast-paced work
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
• Work extended hours on foot including on uneven or rough surfaces.
• Climb ladders kneel crawl or work at heights and in confined spaces.
