Salary/Pay Range: $20250 for 6 months of work. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.
Work Location: In the field with the potential for remote work.
Because this appointment is temporary you will not be eligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided to members of the university staff under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave medical or retirement benefits. However you are eligible to accrue sick leave and you will accrue 0.034 hours of sick leave per hour worked.
Summary
The person hired for this position will help with field research and data analysis for a Department of Energy funded project investigating potential visual cues that attract bats to wind turbines.
Field research for this position will start in mid-September and last approximately one month. During this time the researcher will be camping in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in Northern California.
The cost of travel to the field site and camping fees will be covered by the grant.
The remaining work will be conducted in the Sensory and Movement Ecology Lab run by Dr. Aaron Corcoran from October 2025 through February 2026. There is the possibility for this portion of the work to be conducted remotely.
