Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Specialist to join our client. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing inventory levels ensuring accurate stock counts and supporting the supply chain process. This position requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of inventory management practices within a retail or distribution center environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Utilize data analysis skills to forecast inventory needs and trends.
- Collaborate with supply chain management to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Assist in the buying and selling processes by providing accurate inventory data.
- Maintain accurate records of materials handling and inventory transactions in AS400 or similar systems.
- Work closely with retail management to support sales initiatives through effective inventory control.
- Prepare reports on inventory status including stock levels turnover rates and potential shortages.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supply chain management or inventory management preferably in a retail or distribution center setting.
- Strong understanding of materials handling processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis skills to interpret inventory data effectively.
- Familiarity with AS400 or similar inventory management software is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with various departments.
