Medical Interpreter
Would be dealing with the Spanish population talk to patients and medical professional in regards to WIC Program. Work with patients under the WIC Program.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children (WIC) is an American federal assistance program of the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for healthcare and nutrition of low-income pregnant women breastfeeding women and children under the age of five as part of child nutrition programs. Their mission is to be a partner with other services that are key to childhood and family well-being.1 WIC serves 53% of all infants born in the United States.
Pay Band 4:
Lets start the ad at $35.00 - $45.00.
Responsibilities range from interpreting non-educational situations to interpreting routine medical and administrative services in clinical settings.
Provide accurate translations for healthcare providers and patients as verbatim as possible considering cultural practices context slang and linguistic variation.
Interpreter for families within a health department setting or patients home regarding visits and medical updates; and researching medical terms to be able to interpret as accurately as possible.
Ability to service all seven locations and all district departments on an as needed basis.
Excellent oral communication skills and ability to exercise sensitivity and patience in interactions with patients families and staff in stressful situations while maintaining confidentiality and awareness of cultural differences.
Required: Verifiable certification from an independent medical interpreter school or program.
Considerable knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
