Job Description
Due to a new Kentucky regulation the college credit hour requirement has been changed. Candidates with a high school diploma may apply. To work at the middle or high school level the candidate must be 21 years or older.

Salary is commensurate with a pay scale based on applicant rank and is paid at a daily rate. Rank is determined by KRS 161.1211.
Once hired you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete your new hire forms online. It will include the checklist below:

Physical examination/TB risk assessment using theMedical Examination of School Employees Form
Crime check HCS will reimburse the fee. If there is anything that comes back as questionable you will need to submit further information to the Kentucky Educational Professional Standards Board.
Drug screening ($20 fee) (This can be reimbursed. See note below.)
- Online safety training (free)
Submit a CAN check from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating you are clear to hire and have no findings of substantiated child abuse or neglect. ($10 fee payable only by debit/credit card.) Fill out form HERE. Please list as the recipient.
Note: If after one year of service the substitute accepts and completes 60 sub opportunities the drug screen and CAN check fees will be reimbursed.
