Job Description
Job Title: Psychologist - California City CA
Location: California City CA
Schedule: 1st shift 8-hour shifts including weekdays and weekends
Start Date: Within 2 weeks
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possibility to extend)
Guaranteed Hours: 40/week
Weekly Gross: $3975
Job Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Psychologist for a full-time contract position in a correctional setting in California City CA. This role involves planning coordinating and delivering non-medical psychological services to an incarcerated population. Candidates must be comfortable working in secure environments and maintain flexibility in scheduling.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological screenings and clinical interviews with inmates
- Develop implement and modify individualized treatment plans
- Provide counseling crisis intervention and mental health evaluations
- Collaborate with psychiatrists nurses social workers and other clinical staff
- Make routine rounds in segregation or restricted housing areas to assess mental well-being
- Document all treatment and assessment activities in accordance with policy
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews to ensure continuity of care
- Apply sound psychological theories and techniques to support inmate rehabilitation
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
- Active unrestricted license to practice psychology in California
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience including 1 year in a similar setting
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid drivers license required
- U.S. Citizenship required for ICE clearance (expedited process available)
- ICE Clearance Screening Form required with submission
- Must reside at least 70 miles away from the facility
- Must be available to start within 2 weeks
- No RTO (Requested Time Off) permitted during assignment
- Must have open availability including weekends and holidays
Preferred:
- Experience in correctional or forensic psychology
- Active AHA BLS certification
