You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAs a Lab Technician I for CONMED you will combine a knowledge microbiology with sterilization processes. Here you will gain knowledge of a variety of procedures and will test for a multitude of biological organisms.
Purpose:
To provide general laboratory support including but not limited to performance of microbiological tests such as bioburden sterility and environmental monitoring. Additionally preparation of diluents culture media and reagents is required. The incumbent will follow good practices in recording and reporting data; and have a basic knowledge of FDA regulations international standards and guidance documents applicable to medical devices
Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation of laboratory materials and equipment including culture media preparation and cleaning and sterilization of glassware.
Maintains laboratory cleanliness according to established schedules and procedures.
Performs particulate and environmental monitoring of laboratory and manufacturing areas including clean rooms and controlled environments.
Conducts cleaning studies bioburden growth promotion water analysis and other support testing. Assisting in sterility testing may be required upon demonstration of proficiency in aseptic technique.
Maintains records using good documentation practices.
Maintains proper supply of expendable materials needed for laboratory procedures.
Coordinates test sample shipments and outside testing requests.
Supports all continuous improvement activities.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in a biology chemistry or related field.
Preferred Experience:
2 years of laboratory experience with medical devices or pharmaceuticals
Basic knowledge of safe work practices in handling chemicals and biological materials
