At Penrith City Council the Strategic Asset Management Department is dedicated to ensuring the long-term sustainability performance and value of Councils infrastructure assets. We lead the asset management and renewal planning of a diverse portfolio including roads bridges footpaths drainage buildings public trees and open space infrastructure within active and passive open spaces such as parks sporting fields and playgrounds. Working collaboratively across the organisation we contribute to the planning and design of public spaces and infrastructure to ensure well-managed functional and resilient community assets. Our work supports informed risk-based and financially responsible decision-making aligned with best practice frameworks and a strong focus on delivering safe sustainable and well-managed public assets in support of Councils long-term community outcomes.
About the role
This role supports the safe and sustainable management of Councils urban tree network through the delivery of scheduled tree inspections risk-based assessments and the preparation of arboricultural reports. You will also contribute to tree inventory data collection and provide technical advice across Council-managed land. The role is integral to the implementation of Councils Street and Park Tree Management Plan balancing public safety with the long-term health of the urban canopy.
The position also contributes to strategic public tree asset management by supporting the development and review of strategic frameworks and guidelines related to Councils tree assets. You will work collaboratively across teams to help guide appropriate tree selection placement and long-term viability in the context of new developments upgrades and other Council-led initiatives.
Essential criteria
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $92765.00 - $107380.00 12% Superannuationand will be negotiated commensurate with the skills qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.
You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
