You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAt LCRA we are looking for a Cisco FMC/FTD Engineer Sr to join our team! As a part of LCRAs Telecom Architecture team your expertise will contribute to crafting on the Wide Area Network (WAN) Transport system that strives to improve the quality of life of the Texans we serve. You are someone with commanding knowledge of sophisticated routing protocols industry best practices in EACMS network design and can provide deliverable design documents to the organization. We are a team that thrives on finding solutions for WAN transport communicating across the organization and leading EACMS design for future growth. You will be trusted to:
- Develop methodologies evaluations and recommendations for system capacity planning and corresponding architecture changes due to cybersecurity objectives.
- Support cybersecurity posture of Transport customers and technology opportunities including but not limited to network routing systems DWDM technologies cybersecurity and Cisco FTD firewalls.
- Use design network management (e.g Cisco FMC Splunk Solarwinds) and system operations expertise to create uniform solutions and approaches with attention to long-term equipment management and overall network operability.
- Lead develop and document recommendations for architecture standards within the EACMS network using the Cisco FMC/FTD architecture.
- Monitor and analyze the stability interoperability and availability of systems and provide architectural change recommendations to increase overall availability for mission and business-critical EACMS networks.
You qualify with:
- Nine or more years of experience in designing and/or operating networks or relevant experience.
- A degree(s) in information technology computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
You are a great fit with:
- Knowledge of industry best practices in the various aspects of IT technology trends security designs using Cisco FTD firewalls and FMC enterprise operations knowledge and the ability to develop solutions to implement key business strategies
- Knowledge of infrastructure including but not limited to networking operating systems servers data centers and network management using Solarwinds
- Effective communication collaboration and leadership skills with technical organizations and management teams
- Expert knowledge of next-generation technology solutions including Terabit data networking MPLS Software Defined Networking design
