You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJob Purpose: Oversee the daily financial operations of the senior living nonprofit organization to ensure accurate financial and regulatory compliance through integrity by producing timely and accurate financial reports developing teammates and partnering with operational peers. This role ensures sound fiscal management supports strategic decision-making and upholds the originations mission through transparent and accountable financial stewardship.
Essential Job Results:
Perform month end close process in an accurate and timely manner by: establishing processes and procedures to complete month end close within timeline. Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations for cash and cash clearing accounts relievable accounts payable other payables fixed assets and related parties are performed within established time frames. Preparing month end reports for Audit/Finance Committee and Board of Directors within timeframe defined by VP of Finance and organization.
Promotes stewardship; financial outcomes and asset management- manage treasury and fiscal responsibility by:Ensuring funds are available for major weekly expenditures and giving VP of Finance advanced notice when the need for funds from other sources and developing/assessing ongoing cash flow strategy.
File all regulatory and audit reports within guidelines by: completing all entities audits tax returns and other regulatory filings within the timeliness defined by VP of Finance and organization.
Facilitate teammate recruitment training engagement development and satisfaction by: Working with direct reports to manage tasks more independently through development and review of Standard Operating Procedures. Building rapport with program leaders through financial reviews support and communication. Surveying operations and ascertaining accounting needs and recommending developing and maintaining solutions to business and financial problems.
Complete required financial reporting and analysis by: Publishing monthly financials and KPIs to senior leaders within timelines defined in SOP and agreed upon with the VP of Finance.
Lead annual budgeting process and monitor performance by: Working with operational leaders and finance team to prepare annual budget within timeframes established VP of Finance. Performing monthly review of budget-to-actual performance and working with operational leaders to understand variances.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures by: Renewing and updating current financial policies to ensure internal controls are in place. Creating new policies and procedures for processes that are not properly documented.
Essential Competencies
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA preferred)
Experience: Minimum 5 years in nonprofit or healthcare finance with 2 years in la leadership role
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage Intact Business Central) Excel Microsoft Power BI and financial reporting tools.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Office-based with occasional visits to community areas. May require extended hours during audits or budget season. Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time.
