As a Database Solutions Architect you will design complete solution architectures based on AWS database services.
Have you developed complex applications
Are you an experienced Oracle/SQL Server/NoSQL Platform Specialist
Have you worked on Open source Database platforms like PostgreSQL MySQL DynamoDB ElastiCache or other NoSQL databases
Have you migrated Applications from one Database Engine to another

The specialist will collaborate with our customers and partners on key engagements. You will develop and deliver proof-of-concept projects technical workshops and support implementation projects in order to develop or migrate Applications from on-premise databases like Oracle/SQL*Server to AWS eg. AWS RDS Aurora-PostgreSQL/MySQL or other Open Source platforms. You will focus on customer solutions such as high volume OLTP/OLAP environments designing and deploying future state petabyte-scale data services and building and/or designing reference configurations to enable our customers and influence AWS RDS Aurora DynamoDB and other NoSQL databases adoption.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide Financial Services customers in Capital Markets with deep technical expertise to advance AWS Database Services adoption across their operations from enterprise database management systems to long term data strategy.
- Collaborate with AWS specialist sales marketing and product teams to develop innovative solutions for Capital Markets customers most challenging business problems
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Capital Markets executives helping them navigate cloud transformation and digital innovation
- Lead architectural reviews and workshops focused on Capital Market use cases including modernizing the trade lifecycle and enhancing the customer experience with regards to wealth and asset management.
- Champion industry best practices through AWS blogs white-papers and reference architectures specific to Cap Markets solutions. Present at key industry events including AWS re:Invent AWS Summit and major Financial Services conferences
- Educate customers on AWSs value proposition for Cap Markets workloads ensuring solutions are optimized for production environments
- Provide feedback to AWS product teams on industry-specific requirements and act as primary point of contact for urgent customer issues in your technical specialty.
- Stay current with emerging trends in the Financial Services and Cap Markets industry to help customers innovate and maintain competitive advantage

- 8 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking data & analytics) experience
- 3 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- Deep knowledge and experience on at least one commercial relational database (Oracle SQL Server IBM2) or open source database (PostgreSQL MySQL MariaDB).
- 5 years of infrastructure architecture database architecture and networking experience
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Expertise with Open Source database technologies such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like ElastiCache and DynamoDB.
- 10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
