The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at University of Iowa Health Care-University Campus is seeking an Occupational Therapist to administer treatment to patients with complex physical and cognitive dysfunctions disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be assigned to the hospital-based outpatient clinic as well as select multidisciplinary clinics within our University Medical Center Campus.
- Provide quality patient care evaluation assessment and treatment appropriate for patients needs. Assignment will involve working with patients with complex neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs.
- Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner.
- Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality.
- Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned.
- Maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff students and the public.
- Performs special projects and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is required
- Foundational knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices in an outpatient setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Licenses/ Certifications:
- Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required
Desirable Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in Occupational Therapy
- 1-3 years of experience in evaluation and rehabilitation of neurological patients including ALS Parkinsons Huntingtons stroke and other general dysfunctions.
- 1-3 years of experience in evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders.
- Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting.
