Position Overview: Community Safety and Engagement Team Member fosters a safe and supportive community environment for all students staff and visitors. This role requires vigilance a high level of responsibility and a friendly nature ability to bridge the gap between safety enforcement and community Overview:The Community Safety and Engagement Team Member fosters a safe inclusive and supportive environment across all Met campuses for students staff and visitors. Reporting to the Community Safety Department Director this part-time position (29 hours/week) supports campus safety while promoting a positive and welcoming school Duties & Responsibilities:Help maintain a secure and safe environment at all Met locations prioritizing both safety and community to a calm inclusive and respectful school safety presence during after-school programs and scheduled regular campus patrols maintaining visibility and communication with building leaders during IDs of staff students and visitors as safe and efficient building access for staff and visitors address unauthorized access and promote a sense of students in positive interactions supporting the schools mission and relationships with students staff local police and community with student mediation and conflict resolution as to emergency and alarm calls in a timely and appropriate fire evacuation and lockdown drills as directed by the Community Safety incidents and maintain accurate safety secure school buildings and vehicles at the end of required trainings and professional anti-bias and anti-racism practices to foster an inclusive other related duties as assigned by the Community Safety Department Director or Experience Qualifications & Skills:High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or related coursework in community development public safety or social work in school safety security or community engagement responsible and vigilant approach with strong interpersonal to use basic technology for safety documentation and drivers license and reliable transportation for travel between to learn and adapt to new procedures and :This is a part-time position (29 hours/week).
