Work Schedule: 5-20 hrs per week some weekends required when there is a poverty simulation weekend
Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Ongoing
Pay Rate: $10.50-$11.50 per hour
Key Components:
This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only. Assist with preparation and facilitation of Poverty Simulation. Help with administrative and cleaning tasks and other duties as needed.
- In a student employee capacity may assist in working with external community service partners.
- Poverty Simulation:
- Help with shopping and food prep.
- Assist with administrative tasks in preparation for poverty simulation.
- Communicate with groups planning to attend poverty simulation.
- Prepare for group activities (gather equipment setup rooms etc.)
- Supervise participants interacting with children at Kings Club on Saturday mornings as needed.
- Assist with debriefing and facilitation of World Hunger Banquet on Saturday evenings and breakfast on Sunday mornings and lunch prep help facilitate program evaluations and clean up on Sunday afternoons.
- Mobilize Team:
- Additional tasks to support the Mobilizing team may be assigned.
- These might include preparing data and statistics to provide education to the community about poverty and systemic injustices.
- In addition this role may help with logistics of mobilizing events and opportunities including poverty simulation Other Side of Waco Tours outreach events and community workshops.
Job Description:
Required Hard Skills - General office skills. Good written and oral communication with others. Food Handlers Certificate is required.
Required Soft Skills - Mature and adept communicator. Flexibility and ability to prioritize well. Problem solving competence.
Learning Outcomes -Improve communication skills with various people demographics. Improve problem solving ability. Some knowledge of customer service with various demographics. Improve knowledge and understanding of global poverty.
- Work with local organization(s) or community partners

- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
