Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Human Resource Generalist to join our dynamic team in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR practices and regulations with a proven track record of effectively managing a variety of human resource functions. This role is critical in fostering a positive work environment ensuring compliance with labor laws and developing strategies that enhance employee engagement and retention. As a Senior HR Generalist you will serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees alike providing guidance on personnel policies procedures and best practices. Your contributions will be instrumental in talent acquisition on boarding performance management and employee relations. Additionally you will have the opportunity to implement innovative HR initiatives that align with our organizational goals. In this fast-paced environment you will need to demonstrate strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills while managing multiple priorities. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the full recruitment cycle to attract top talent for various positions within the organization.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with both local and federal regulations.
  • Conduct new employee on boarding and orientation programs ensuring a smooth transition for all new hires.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies procedures and benefits.
  • Monitor and manage employee performance appraisal processes and provide guidance on performance-related issues.
  • Facilitate training and development initiatives focusing on enhancing employee skills and career advancement opportunities.
  • Handle employee relations issues providing conflict resolution and mediation support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in human resources management Business Administration or a related field; a Masters degree or HR certification (SHRM PHR) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Experience in a union setting considered an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices and employment law regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite with a capacity to learn new software quickly.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.

In accordance with New York States Pay Transparency Law (New York State Labor Law Section 194-b) which requires private employers with four (4) or more employees to include a range of pay for all advertised jobs promotion or transfer opportunities. This position is a non-exempt position and pays between $30.00 - $35.00 an hour dependent on experience.
