Job Description
Role Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position requires hands-on experience with CNC lathes and the ability to write G-code and M-code programs manually (long-hand). The ideal candidate will have experience working with both Fanuc and Okuma Windows-based controls and will be capable of creating efficient and accurate CNC programs without the aid of automated CAM systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Write and edit CNC programs long-hand using G-code and M-code for Fanuc-controlled lathes (Hardinge) and Okuma lathes with Windows-based controls.

Interpret technical drawings blueprints and specifications to develop programs that meet tight tolerances and machining requirements.

Troubleshoot test and refine programs directly on machines to ensure efficiency safety and quality.

Collaborate with machinists and production staff to optimize machining processes and reduce setup and cycle times.

Maintain and document accurate records of programs and revisions.

Identify and suggest process improvements for machining operations.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 5 years of CNC programming experience.

Strong understanding of G-code and M-code syntax.

Hands-on experience with both Fanuc and Okuma CNC controls.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Experience programming without the use of CAD/CAM software (manual long-hand programming required).
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with SolidWorks for reading and understanding drawings (no design work required).

Previous experience supporting both lathe and mill-turn CNC machines.

Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality control standards.
