Job Description

A Manufacturing Design Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes ensuring product quality and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Create and refine designs for manufacturing processes and products ensuring they meet functional and aesthetic requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams product managers and clients to align design specifications with production capabilities and user needs.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct tests to validate designs making modifications based on feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough records of design processes revisions and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications Education: A Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is typically required. Experience: Relevant experience in manufacturing design or engineering, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials. Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with simulation and testing tools. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and develop effective solutions during the design and manufacturing phases. 2 2 Sources Desired Skills Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on intricate design aspects and ensure high-quality outcomes. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial in ensuring that products are designed for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety standards, ultimately contributing to the overall success of manufacturing operations.

Education

Education/Experience Required: A Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is typically required. Five or more years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing facility Combination of education and experience, may substitute for degree.
