The ideal candidates will provide services that include assisting with clinical duties patient education and administrative tasks while adhering to security protocols and ensuring compliance with established healthcare standards.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health career Association (NHA).
Valid certification/licensure to practice as a Medical Assistant in West Virginia
CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant (correctional healthcare experience preferred)
Responsibilities:
Assisting health care providers in examining or treating patients.
Taking and recording vital signs and medical histories preparing patients for examination.
Performing procedures within the scope of practice to include sterile dressing application and packing enemas suture/staple application and removal.
Assisting providers in performing minor surgical procedures including but not limited to biopsy laceration repair and small lump excisions.
Measuring the patient s vital signs and weight and scanning laboratory results into the Electronic Medical Record system.
Assisting in patient dismissal from the clinic upon completion of treatment as well as ensuring follow up care instructions are understood.
Maintaining equipment through normal procedures including cleaning and sterilizing as well as minor troubleshooting or repairs.
Ensuring instruments/unapproved items are not left in the clinic during non-patient care hours and proper storage and security procedures are followed.
Completing a wide array of clerical and support duties.
Ensure compliance with all federal and institutional regulations.
Additional duties as assigned.
