Donaldsons Power Generation business unit is seeking a Project/Application Engineer for our Engineering team. In this role you will project engineer new system designs through our engineering and CAD teams and support new product for air inlet systems for the gas turbine market. This role includes Application Engineering of complex non-standard configurations. Heavy involvement in the design and layout with the customer through CAD modeling and system integration. Traveling to customer sites to assist surveying and direct contact with customer to ensure all requirements are being fulfilled

Role Responsibilities:

• Support kick-offs of new projects through our engineering and CAD team

• Develop and maintain products through knowledge and application of engineering and filtration principles.

• Develop complex system layouts to meeting customers requirements

• Utilize CAD system to produce quick 3D layouts/concepts to help customer visualize system design.

• Direct interface/contact with customer including site visits and assisting with surveying.

• Perform engineering calculations investigations and assigned tasks.

• Provide technical support to manufacturing partners at our plants suppliers and CAD designers.

• Utilize Computer Aided Engineering systems to help evaluate designs.

• Develop budgetary cost estimates

• Ensure compliance with government and organization engineering standards.

• Provide technical support to Sales Product Management Applications Engineering Field Service Marketing and Manufacturing.

• Prepare and present technical results and information in a clear and concise manner through drawings specifications reports and oral presentations.

• Support field assembly/commissioning as needed through conference calls or site visits.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering.

• 4 years related professional work experience.

• Experience with CAD Teamcenter NX

• Proficient with Siemens NX 3D modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AutoCAD

• Experience working with fabricated metal products manufacturing processes and the downstream impacts of design decisions.

• Effective oral and written communication skills with broad audience: Sales product management other engineering teams CAD design quality manufacturing plant personnel

• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to manage all engineering activities and ensure delivery timelines.

• Manage engineering communications with customer.

• Manage engineering timelines and schedules and provide reoccurring updates to team.

Travel:

• Less than 20% annually US and Mexico.

The SeniorSupplierQualityEngineer (SQE) is a trusted technical leader who elevates the capability of Donaldsons external supply base. You will assess qualify and continuously develop suppliers so they reliably meet Donaldsons quality delivery and cost objectives. You will drive robust Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and flawless SPPAP execution for new programs and critical transitions. You will lead complex problem-solving and correctiveaction activities that protect our customers and advance supplier performance. You will serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and crossfunctional plant engineering purchasing and global quality teams. You will mentor / Coach Donaldson employees and actively contribute to Donaldsons global communities of practice and valueimprovement initiatives. You will apply riskbased prioritization (Pareto impacteffort matrix) to balance urgent escalations against strategic initiatives keeping workload < 100 % effective capacity. This position will work out of our Bloomington MN office on a hybrid schedule.

Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute initial capability audits annual recertifications and specialcause assessments at supplier and key subtier sites

• Maintain the regional audit roadmap; issue concise datadriven reports and track closure of findings

• Lead suppliers through APQP SRR and full PPAP / SPPAP submissionsincluding risk reviews MSA PFMEA and control plans

• Before launch validate process capability (Cp/Cpk) GR&R and special characteristics

• Own containment rootcause analysis (8D 5Whys Ishikawa) and sustainable corrective actions for escalated NCRs or customer issues

• Monitor DPPM COPQ and On-time Delivery; publish scorecards and facilitate supplier business reviews

• Build and execute datadriven improvement roadmaps; deploy Lean / SixSigma SPC and DOE to reduce variation and risk

• Coach suppliers on Donaldsons Quality Manual ISO9001 and IATF16949 expectations; deliver onsite or virtual training as needed

• Facilitate supplier correctiveaction workshops to resolve systemic issues and strengthen relationships

• Influence crossfunctional stakeholders to resolve conflicts and remove roadblocks

• Lead/participate in core teams for highvisibility APD launches; align Engineering Sourcing and Plant Quality on risk mitigation deliverables and gated timelines

• Escalate critical issues through structured project governance ensuring executive awareness and timely decisionmaking

• Ensure full compliance with Donaldson procedures customer requirements and regulatory standards

• Help shape departmental policy and continuousimprovement strategies

• Deliver annual targets for DPPM COPQ savings and auditfinding closure; quantify and communicate the financial impact of SQE actions at the Business Unit level

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Industrial or related engineering discipline

• 5years of progressive supplier quality / quality experience in a manufacturing environment

• Certified Lead Auditor or Internal Audit Experience (ISO9001 and /orIATF16949) standards

• Demonstrated mastery of statistical analysis tools such as APQP PPAP SPC MSA FMEA GD&T DOE

• Willing and able to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven success leading multisite supplier development or correctiveaction projects

• Strong analytical projectmanagement and presentation skills; proficiency with Minitab (or equivalent)

• Fluent English (written & spoken); ability to influence at all organizational levels

• ASQ CQE CSSBB or Certified Supplier Quality Professional

• Extensive supplierquality experience across fabricated and formed metals advanced filtration media and engineered plastics (injection molding extrusion).

• Familiarity with automotive or heavyequipment customer requirements (e.g. VDA6.3 FormelQ).

• Previous mentoring or team-leader experience.

Annual Salary Range : $71900 - $91700 annually. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to applicable work experience training education performance.
