Job Description
High School Diploma or GED - Required
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Health Technologist and Technician All Other
Must be one of the following:
1)Certified/Registered Central Service Technician by International Association or Healthcare Central Service Material Management;
2)Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician by Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc;
3)Employed as a central service technician in a healthcare institution before January 1 2017; or
4)Obtains a Certified/Registered Central Service Technician by International Association or Healthcare Central Service Material Management or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician by Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc no later than two (2) years after the persons date of hire
Collects decontaminates stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.
Reports to: Director - Surgical Services and Certified Sterile Processing Supervisor
