Job Description
As a Remote Platform Engineer you will design build and maintain the foundational systems and services that empower development teams to deploy scale and manage applications efficiently. You will contribute to the stability performance and security of cloud infrastructure developer platforms CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
This role is critical for enabling engineering velocity while ensuring reliability and compliance across environments. Youll collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps SREs developers and security teams to provide a seamless platform experience from local development to production deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for cloud and hybrid environments (e.g. AWS Azure GCP)
Build and manage internal developer platforms CI/CD systems service meshes and deployment workflows
Develop and maintain container orchestration platforms (e.g. Kubernetes ECS Nomad)
Automate infrastructure provisioning configuration and monitoring using tools like Terraform Ansible Helm and FluxCD
Collaborate with software engineering teams to provide self-service capabilities and improve delivery velocity
Monitor and improve platform availability performance and security through observability tooling (e.g. Prometheus Grafana Datadog)
Enforce platform standards and ensure consistency across environments using policy-as-code and governance tools
Contribute to incident response processes and postmortems implementing long-term reliability improvements
Evaluate and integrate new technologies to continuously improve the developer experience and platform capabilities
Document system architecture processes and best practices for internal teams
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience in platform engineering DevOps or infrastructure roles
Strong expertise with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure) and infrastructure as code (Terraform Pulumi or CloudFormation)
Deep understanding of Linux systems containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python Go Bash etc.)
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitHub Actions CircleCI ArgoCD etc.)
Experience implementing monitoring alerting and logging systems.
