Job Description
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient & staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reports to the Manager of Network Operations. Performs configuration installation technical support problem resolution and change management duties related to the VIHA data communications network. Responsible for resolving complex problems related to the design configuration deployment integration and management of components required to support the network connectivity of servers workstations telephones terminals printers and a variety of other clinical and administrative peripheral equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Grade 12 graduation from a recognized two year computer systems technology diploma program plus three years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to type.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry the duties of the position.
