FT/PT/R/T: Part-Time Academic Year
When Needed: Fall 2025
University Prep is seeking a talented engaging and compassionate Fitness Center Supervisor. Who We Are:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision Fitness Center Supervisor is responsible for the upkeep of equipment and supervision of the fitness users from 2:45-5:45 Monday-Friday.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Gives undivided attention to the members and guests at all times
- Teaches appropriate skill sets and modify workout for a wide range of abilities
- Actively greets student faculty and staff member as they enter the Fitness Center
- Willingness to help others
- Calls a substitute or contacts immediate supervisor if sick or cannot work a particular shift
- Accurately clock-in and out for every assigned shift
- Ability to arrive to work 5 -15 minutes prior to your assigned shift start time
- Performs proper opening and closing procedures by using checklists provided
- Accurately logs each student faculty and staff member
- Makes copies of forms and replaces them throughout the Fitness Center
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum one-year experience in the fitness industry/coaching preferred
- Experience in customer service and computers
- Current CPR Certification required (From either Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- Current First Aid (From either Red Cross or American Heart Association)
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of the developmental needs of adolescent youth and adults
- Efficient well organized and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the program
- Professional manner discretion and appearance
- Sense of humor energy and enthusiasm and ability to hold students and oneself to high expectations
- Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staff
- Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parents
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Proficiency in appropriate computer skills and gym equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury
- Ability to stand stoop kneel crouch bend walk and talk
- Ability to use hands and fingers handle feel or operate objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Pay & Benefits:
- Pay is based on experience and ranges from $22-$25 per hour
- This position is eligible for statutory benefits only
