In collaboration with the Department Chair Service Line Executive and Service Line Chief the CSC Clinic Medical Director is responsible for improving clinical care within the CSC ENT Clinic.
This will be supported at a 0.05 FTE this time will need to be protected by the individuals primary employer/supervisor.
Expectations and Responsibilities:
- Ensure an adequate work environment for physicians and mid-level providers.
- Supervise physicians and mid-level providers (regardless of employment home).working within the CSC ENT Clinic
- For physicians this is done in conjunction with the Academic Department Chair
- For APPs this is done in conjunction with the APP leadership structure
- Build develop and lead a diverse high performing team
- Assists Department Chair in recruiting developing and retaining physicians
- Supports individual and group development through coaching and teaching
- Engage in deliberate succession planning
- Improve quality of care
- Maintenance of patient care standards
- Develop/improve care pathways and practice guidelines
- Lead quality improvement initiatives for the clinic
- Develop maintain update and implement policies procedures and protocols
- Reduce unwarranted variation in supplies instruments and equipment
- Improve patient experience
- Monitor patient experience and patient flow
- Demonstrate business acumen
- Ability to create new markets and develop new business ideas
- Help build strategic plans to advance the vision and strategic directions of M Health Fairview and the Medical School
- Identify key stakeholders and understands the dynamic needs of the organization as relates to discipline
- Working with dyad partner on budget variances progress vs. plansproformas operating trends etc.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment
- Appreciates the complexity of a large integrated health system.
- Collaborates with other leaders to assure the best possible business service and clinical outcomes for the discipline
- Manage conflict and demonstrate a collaborative approach with all partners
- Collaborate with other specialties nursing pharmacy referring physicians etc
- Understands and values the unique nature of an academic health care environment
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to the Surgical Specialties Service Line Medical Director
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education
- MD with Board Certification in discipline
- Experience
- Experience leading physicians or multi-disciplinary teams
Pay & Benefits:
- Overall clinical compensation from M Physicians will remain at its present level. This leadership position is compensated in the form of protected administrative time. As such the corresponding cFTE for direct patient care may be adjusted by the selectees CSU to reflect this reallocation of responsibilities.
