Warehouse Associate I

The position of Warehouse Associate I will be based out of our Seattle WA location!

Summary

The Warehouse Associate I is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders receiving stocking staging and shipping material in a manner that meets company standards for safety security accuracy and productivity. Responsible for all warehouse transactions as well as the upkeep and maintenance of the branch warehouse environment and equipment.

What Youll Do

• Contributeto a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment
• Followestablished Standard Operating Procedures Environmental Health and Safety Rules and immediately addresssafety concerns
• Receivematerial coming into the building by vendors customers or other warehouses and verifythe quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list
• Keepincoming orders stocked on shelves orderly and in designated area and reportfreight damage claims
• Preparebranch orders from the warehouse and ensurethat the correct number and type of product is being shipped
• Processpaperwork regarding shipments including but not limited toverifying that the merchandise to be shipped is correct applying the correct postage tape and label following customer shipping instructions andinsuring the shipment when necessary
• Operatemachinery including forklift reach truck and wire cutting machine when required
• Loadcommon carrier and company vehicles
• Inspectand performminor maintenance on equipment
• Performinventory counts and reconcileany discrepancies
• Makedeliveries to branches/customers as needed
• Assistwith other warehouse or branch duties as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

What Youll Need

• High School Diploma or GEDpreferred
• Certification to operate forklift hand truck pallet jack and other warehouse equipment preferred
• If required to make deliveries:
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of theMotor Vehicle Record
  • Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire
  • Must not have had a suspended driverslicense for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years
  • Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years
• No experience required
• Prior warehouse experience a plus

• General knowledge of electrical products a plus
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks
