Job Description

Permanent Nurse Practitioner-Urgent Care Day Shift

Location: Round Rock TX 78665
Shift: Full-Time Days
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Conducts comprehensive and problem-focused physical exams and health histories.
  • Orders interprets and evaluates diagnostic and lab tests.
  • Prescribes and manages therapeutic treatments and medications based on clinical assessment and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Develops implements and monitors individualized outcomes-based treatment plans.
  • Evaluates patient response to care and modifies treatment accordingly.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families on health conditions medications nutrition and preventive health.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of patient visits plans and outcomes.
  • Initiates consultations or referrals when a condition is outside scope of practice or expertise.
  • Provides specialty-specific consultation services.
  • Performs minor procedures within scope and competency as delegated by supervising physician.
  • May provide additional patient care during extended hours based on departmental needs.

  • Strong clinical knowledge of acute care and urgent care protocols.
  • Proficiency in evaluating diagnostic tests and creating treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Skilled in electronic health records (EHR) and medical software.
  • Ability to counsel and educate patients and families.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the care team.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year required (new graduates welcome).
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Texas.
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification-required within 30 days of hire.
