Job Summary:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the
company complies with regulations and best practices including waste reduction recycling and
proper disposal. The EHS Officer will conduct risk assessments develop policies and procedures
and monitor compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The EHS Officer will also be
responsible for managing waste management systems developing and conducting training
programs and reporting on the companys EHS management practices and performance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement policies and procedures including guidelines for waste reduction
recycling and disposal
Manage waste management systems to ensure that compliance is properly sorted stored
and disposed of in compliance with applicable regulations and standards
Develop and conduct training programs to educate employees on the risks associated with
the work. Develop trainings modules to educate collection partners and vendors
Establish communication channels with stakeholders including regulators customers and
suppliers.
Identify and evaluate emerging trends and technologies related to EHS management and
make recommendations to the company on ways to improve its practices and reduce its
environmental impact
Monitor and report on the companys environmental performance including its progress in
reducing its impact on the EHS problem
Review the Material Recovery Facility Site Plan Structural MEP Drawings with respect to
the Environment and Safety.
Support the Construction Manager and team with the required Safety Policies and
Documentation.
Draft and implementation of EHS Policies at the Material Recovery Facilities
Provide trainings to operational Staff with respect to Environment
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health and Safety or a related
field
At least 4-6 years of experience in EHS management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct risk assessments
and develop strategies to mitigate risks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with
stakeholders
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong sense of initiative and
self-motivation
