We are looking for a seasoned Rules Author Lead or Architect to spearhead the design and implementation of advanced configuration logic across CPQ platforms and CAD systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in tools like Tacton KBMax (Epicor CPQ) DriveWorks or KBEWorks and a strategic mindset to lead complex rule-based automation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and oversee the development of scalable maintainable rule frameworks for CPQ and CAD automation.
- Lead a team of rule authors and engineers providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering sales product) to define configuration logic and product rules.
- Design and implement CAD customization workflows integrated with CPQ platforms.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards business logic and performance benchmarks.
- Conduct code reviews rule audits and performance tuning.
- Drive innovation in rule authoring practices leveraging visual programming (e.g. Snap in Epicor CPQ) and scripting.
- Define best practices and documentation standards for rule development and deployment.
Requirements
8 years of experience in rule authoring CPQ configuration or CAD automation.
- Expertise in at least two of the following: Tacton KBMax (Epicor CPQ) DriveWorks KBEWorks.
- Strong background in CAD platforms (SolidWorks Inventor AutoCAD) and customization techniques.
- Proven experience in architecting rule-based systems and leading technical teams.
- Familiarity with ERP/PLM integrations and BOM generation.
- Excellent analytical communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to translate complex engineering logic into intuitive configuration workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scripting languages or visual rule engines (e.g. Snap DriveWorks rules builder).
- Exposure to ETO (Engineer-to-Order) or CTO (Configure-to-Order) manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of cloud-based CPQ platforms and API integrations.
