Job Description
Health Information Specialist is primarily responsible for the maintenance auditing disclosure and release of the medical record in both paper and electronic format including but not limited to: scanning capturing and uploading documents; analyzing the chart for accuracy and completeness; and reconciling and destruction of paper charts and records.
Qualifications :
What is required...
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors degree in a Healthcare-related field; OR Additional training/education in a healthcare discipline; OR Prior experience in a health information management department with an electronic health record
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems and programs including all Microsoft Office programs
What is preferred...
- At least two years of customer service experience
- Successful completion of a medical terminology course
- Fluent in two or more languages
Additional Information :
Wage: Wage range currently starts at $18.91/hour and goes up to $28.67/hour. Actual wage will be based on years of applicable experience.
FTE: 1.0 40 hours/week
